      Jeff Apodaca, Celebration of Life understands the unique challenges kids with Cancer must overcome in order to triumph over their illness. The Jeff Apodaca, Celebration of Life Scholarship gives them a start on a new future—a good education.

      28 years ago, with the help of UNM Children’s Hospital, Jeff Apodaca won the battle against a rare and malignant form of soft muscle sarcoma. Community partners, Jeff and Jackie Apodaca sponsor the annual “Celebration of Life” fundraiser at which the annual scholarship is awarded.

      The Jeff Apodaca, Celebration of Life event celebrates the bright future of kids like Jeff who have battled for their lives, and have gone on to pursue their education and careers.

      Jeff Apodaca, Celebration of Life will offer scholarship(s) through the Jeff Apodaca, Celebration of Life Fund. A committee consisting of 2 to 3 Jeff Apodaca, Celebration of Life Committee members, 1 UNM Hospitals Development Office Staff member and representatives of the scholarship sponsor will select the awardees.

Selection will be based, in part, on the following criteria :

      The Scholarship will be awarded at the Jeff Apodaca Celebration of Life Gala each year. The 2007 event will be held September 28th, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Winner must be present at the gala to accept the award.
